Kitsap County Commissioner Steve Bauer announced that a community meeting to discuss the speed table issue will be held from 7-9 p.m. April 23 in the Greater Hansville Community Center at Buck Lake Park.

The purpose of the meeting is to review events leading up to the installation of the speed tables in Hansville, take comments from the audience and seek volunteers to join two committees to study the speed-table issue. One committee will explore possible revisions to the current speed tables to try to make them easier to traverse. The other committee will explore alternatives to the speed tables that will be cost effective and efficient in reducing speeding.

Commissioner Bauer, Sheriff Steve Boyer, Fire District #10 Chief Dan Smith and representatives of the county’s Department of Public Works will be present to respond to questions.

The Greater Hansville Area Advisory Committee and its Road Safety Advisory Committee will no longer be asked to manage the community discussion about the speed tables.
