Port of Bremerton CEO Cary Bozeman announced he will leave his position at the port at the end of the year.

Bozeman, 70, has headed the port since 2009, when he resigned as Bremerton mayor to take over the port.
He said he wanted to be in control of his schedule and reduce his workload while he is still healthy.
“My wife and I have been thinking about it for quite awhile,” he said Tuesday. “There are a lot of things in my life I haven’t done yet. I thought it was the right time to do it.”
Bozeman will continue to live in Manette and hopes to travel to Italy, sail the Greek islands and return to his fishing hobby.

“There’s a lot of things on my bucket list that I haven’t got to in 50 years,” he said.
Before being elected mayor of Bremerton in 2001, Bozeman was the mayor of Bellevue and served on the Bellevue City Council for 16 years. He also ran the Boys and Girls Club of King County.
“I’ve had a great career and I’ve been very fortunate,” he said. “Every job I’ve had I’ve loved.”
Bozeman hopes to rent an office in downtown Bremerton and become an independent consultant to cities. He also said he may take other part-time job opportunities as they arise.
