Don’t forget that in order to receive economic stimulus payments of up to $600 per person, income tax returns must be filed this year for 2007.
To help make sure everyone gets their incentive payments, volunteers trained by certified instructors under the guidance and supervision of AARP and the IRS are available through April 15 at Martha and Mary, 19160 Front Street in Poulsbo, from 1-5 p.m. Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and at the S’Klallam Tribe House of Knowledge Elders Center, 31912 Little Boston Road, from 3-7 p.m. Tuesdays and 3-6 p.m. Wednesdays.
Those seeking help from the Tax-Aide program are asked to bring a copy of last year’s tax return (if available), all income information including W-2, 1099 and unemployment forms, social security and photo ID cards, and information for itemized deductions including details on dependent care providers, divorce and custody settlements and power of attorney.
