The Kitsap County Health District and the Kitsap County Department of Emergency Management are conducting two meetings for the public to learn more about the H1N1 flu virus (swine flu).
The meetings will feature a presentation by Kitsap County Health Officer, Dr. Scott Lindquist. He will discuss the current status of the H1N1 flu in Kitsap County, the risks associated with the H1N1 flu and who’s most at risk, vaccination recommendations and other prevention measures for H1N1 flu and seasonal flu. Lindquist will also discuss the actions underway here in the County and across the State to prevent the spread of the disease. Following the presentation, the public will have ample opportunity to ask questions.
“H1N1 is no ordinary flu, it’s different from the typical seasonal flu”, Lindquist said. “We encourage everyone to get educated about this new virus to protect themselves and their families from the disease.”
