KINGSTON — The Kingston Cooperative Preschool has filled the Old Schoolhouse at Kola Kole Park for 40 years, collecting generations of alumni. Now they are inviting everyone back for birthday cake.
The school would like to celebrate its 40th birthday with the community and its alumni at an open house from 2-4 p.m. Oct. 22, said KCP President Greg Platz. Cake, of course, will be provided, and a group shot of all alumni will be taken at 3 p.m.
Through all 40 years of educating young minds through play, KCP has occupied the Old Schoolhouse.
Recent renovations by the Kitsap County Parks and Recreation have helped to give it a new shine, and the staff would like to show it off, Platz said. The first floor windows and music room ceiling have been replaced and a coat of new paint has livened up the building.
“We want to bring everyone together to celebrate the life of the preschool,†said Platz. “Over the years, the kids, parents and teachers have made this little school a very special place, and we’re excited to bring everyone together. So, spread the word and come join the fun.â€
