An 18-year-old Poulsbo man was arrested in Bremerton Feb. 20 for dealing drugs and running from police after asking officers for a ride to Brother Don’s.

The man was walking south on Wycoff Avenue with a 19-year-old woman around midnight when he approached a police officer’s car to ask for a ride to Brother Don’s on Kitsap Way, according to Bremerton police reports. Before giving the two a ride, the officer checked the man’s backpack and found a methamphetamine pipe. When the officer attempted to arrest the man, he ran south through the U-Haul parking lot and east toward Callow Avenue. He then laid on the ground in a parking lot at the intersection of Sixth Street and Callow Avenue, where he was arrested.

Another search of the man’s backpack yielded several plastic bags full of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The woman told police the man had taken almost all of her money from her bank account against her will and used it to buy and sell drugs.

The man was taken to Kitsap County jail for investigation of drug dealing, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.
