Kingston slams Bremerton

The Kingston High fastpitch team shut out Bremerton High Monday, 15-0. Kingston scored 10 runs in the first inning, thanks to a two-run homer from Greta Coleman, a triple from Alexa Ekonomakis and a three-run double from Jordan Tapp. Katie Lomas got the win for Kingston, throwing seven strikeouts.

TENNIS

Kingston girls win season opener

The Kingston High girls tennis team defeated Port Townsend Monday, 7-0.

Singles: Olivia Guevara (K) def. Sarah Hanke (PT) 0-6, 6-3, 7-6. Austen Turner (K) def. Tina Dietz (PT) 6-0, 6-0. Anna Rushmer (K) def. Chumpeng Stankus (PT) 6-1, 6-2.

Doubles: Corinne Sudduth/Stephanie Fyfe (K) def. Mary Itterly/Adreanna Gore (PT) 6-0, 6-1. Ericka Daniels/Lindsey Wicklein (K) def. Cassie Kilmea/Stevi Manthe (PT) 6-0, 6-0. Maddi Miller/Andrea Fladgard (K) def. Leah Russell/Ina Waring Enriquez (PT) 6-0, 6-0. Charlotte Kilborn/Graciela Molina (K) def. Olivia Garten/Devan Morain (PT) 6-0, 6-0.

North Kitsap slips past Central Kitsap

The North Kitsap High girls tennis team defeated Central Kitsap Monday, 4-3.

BASEBALL

Kingston defeats Bremerton

The Kingston High baseball team defeated Bremerton High Monday, 6-4. Josh Herrera got the win for Kingston, pitching six innings and holding the Knights to one run. Tyler Klopp pitched relief in the seventh, and allowed three more runs. Matthew Ramstead took the mound with the tying run on second and only one out. He recorded the final two outs to get the save for Kingston. Garrett Ramstead led Kingston offensively, going 2-for-2 with two RBI and two runs.

BASKETBALL

Kingston Middle School goes undefeated

The Kingston Middle School basketball team finished the 2010 season with a perfect 10-0 record.
