Arne L. Stadshaug | Passages

BREMERTON — Arne L. Stadshaug passed away at home on Nov. 19 with his family by his side.

He was 70.

Arne was born in Bremerton on July 16, 1946, the son of Edwin P. and Lois L. (Kindall) Stadshaug. The family moved to Poulsbo, where Arne grew up and attended grades K-12. He graduated from North Kitsap High School in 1964.

Arne was drafted into the U.S. Army on Aug. 2, 1966, serving in Germany. He received an honorable discharge on Aug. 1, 1968.

Arne worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, then for General Supply and Olympia Brewery, returning to Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as a motor vehicle operator until his retirement in 2006.

Arne married Lee Stadshaug (McDonald) on the Dosewallips River, a favorite family place. Arne and Lee were together for almost 35 years. He enjoyed camping with family on the Dosewallips River, spending the Fourth of July at his brother and sister-in-law’s cabin at Georgetown Lake, Montana, and spending time with his family.

Arne was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Nancy Segerman.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lee; son and best friend, Michael (Kara); brothers, Bob and Mark (Susan); brother-in-law, Skip; father-in-law, Francis McDonald Jr.; mother-in-law, Patricia Lemmon; and numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Arne’s life will take place at a later date, TBD. In lieu of flowers, consider donating in memory of Arne to North Kitsap Fishline or American Lung Association, or sponsor a child to play baseball with your local Little League.
