Kitsap County’s Public Works Department has released a list of county roads that will be affected by construction and maintenance work through Jan. 13.
Some roads in the South Kitsap area will receive general maintenance with minimal delays during the week.
Here is a list of impacted roads in the central and north Kitsap areas of the county:
Central Kitsap:
General maintenance with minimal delays expected this week.
NEW: NE John Carlson Road (between Concord Lane NE and SR 303). A contractor is working here on a sanitary sewer piping replacement project. Traffic lanes are revised with two-way traffic maintained. Expect delays of 5-10 minutes in the immediate vicinity of the work. Flaggers will assist motorists through the work area. Work here continues through mid-February.
NEW: NE Fairgrounds Road (between Beacon Place NE and SR 303). A contractor is working here on a sanitary sewer piping replacement project. Traffic lanes are revised with two-way traffic maintained. Expect delays of 5-10 minutes in the immediate vicinity of the work. Flaggers will assist motorists through the work area. Work here continues through mid-February.
UPDATED: Silverdale Way NW (between SR 303 and NW Misty Ridge Lane). A contractor is working here on a sanitary sewer piping replacement project. Traffic lanes are revised with two-way traffic maintained. Expect delays of 5-10 minutes in the immediate vicinity of the work. Flaggers will assist motorists through the work area. Work here continues through early-February.
UPDATED: NE Fairgrounds Road (at the intersection with Central Valley Road NW). Nordland Construction crews are working to widen the intersection for the addition of sidewalks, left turn lanes, and a new traffic signal and illumination system. Traffic is controlled with a four-way stop until construction of the new signal is complete. Expect moderate delays of 5-10 minutes in the immediate vicinity of the work.
North Kitsap:
General maintenance with minimal delays expected this week.
ONGOING: Washington Boulevard NE/E 4th Street NE (between Ohio Avenue NE and the end of county maintenance on Washington Boulevard). A weight limit of 10,000 pounds is in place at this location.
What is general maintenance?
County road crews may be working in areas adjacent to and outside of the driving lanes. This work includes any of the following activities:
- Snow and ice control
- Road approach work
- Storm system and ditch restoration
- Shoulder maintenance
- Sweeping
- Overhead brushing
- Road crack seal application
- Vegetation management
- Storm clean-up
- Maintaining and lifting manholes
- General system maintenance
- Other maintenance activities as required
