PORT ORCHARD — Camp Leo for children with diabetes is ready to take applications for its summer programs.

Camp Leo is sponsored by the Lions Clubs of Washington state. It is dedicated to providing an overnight experience for children with diabetes where the disease is a norm, not the exception, according to a Lions Club news release. At the camp, children can have fun and be in a safe setting away from home, meet other children with diabetes, learn about the disease and gain the independence essential to living a more normal life.
