PORT ORCHARD — Bay Street, also known as SR 166, will be closed at SR 16 beginning at 6:30 a.m. Monday, May 8 — but open to local traffic — from the closure of Port Orchard Boulevard.
Crews will be working in the area where a culvert designed to help migrating fish to access Anderson Creek was installed. During the closure, a signed detour will be provided via Port Orchard Boulevard and Tremont Street W. The highway is expected to reopen May 13, according to the City of Port Orchard.
The closure of SR 166 at SR 16 is expected to take six days. The reopening could be delayed by inclement weather.
During the Washington State Department of Transportation work, the city’s public works crew will be doing vegetative maintenance and ditch work on SR 166 from Port Orchard Boulevard to SR 16.
