PORT ORCHARD — South Kitsap School District will continue its free summer lunch program for South Kitsap children, according to Amy Miller, the district’s communication specialist.

Free lunches will be served at East Port Orchard Elementary, 2649 Hoover Ave. SE, Monday through Friday, from June 26 to Aug. 18. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Lunch will not be served on July 3 and 4.

On Wednesdays, the district will provide a sack lunch to children from 12-12:15 p.m. on June 28 to Aug. 16 at the downtown Port Orchard waterfront gazebo, adjacent to the library.

The free lunches are made possible due to the district’s participation in the federally funded Summer Food Program that offers free lunches to children 18 and under.
