PORT ORCHARD — Musicians from Olympic College will open a new summer season of Concerts by the Bay on Thursday, June 1 at the Port Orchard Marina Waterfront Park.
Showtime is at 6:30 p.m.
The event is sponsored during the summer by Kitsap Bank, Peninsula Credit Union, City of Port Orchard, Friends of the Concerts and the Port of Bremerton.
The concerts will take place rain or shine, according to sponsors. Admission and parking are free.
On June 8, the Mark Lewis Quartet will play a genre of mixed music at the gazebo. The Tonze, a jazz group, takes the stage June 15. Concerts that follow this summer will be:
June 22: The Big Bear Band (classic rock); June 23 (Friday): Ranger & the Re-Arrangers (gypsy jazz); June 24 (Saturday): Uncle Ernie Band (rock and roll band at 3 p.m.); June 25 (Sunday at 3 p.m.): Silver City 6 (classic rock/blues); June 29: Hat Full of Rain (classic rock); July 4 (Tuesday): 11 a.m. Easy Breeze (easy listening), 1 p.m. Eric and the Steves (vintage rock), 3 p.m. Ignite (rock), 5:30 p.m. Buck & Elizabeth (children/family), 8:30 p.m. Usual Suspects (classic rock). July 6: no concert due to carnival; July 13: Lucas Rose (Americana); July 20: Celtic Spoon (Irish folk/pop); July 27: Hock Me Up (variety/jazz); Aug. 3: Dusty Cadillac (blues); Aug. 10: Tammy Frost (Americana); Aug. 17: Joey Jewell (Sinatra); Aug 24: Danny Vernon (Elvis); and Aug. 31: Eastblue (island rock).
