OLYMPIA — Sen. Jan Angel (R-Port Orchard) is planning to host a telephone town hall meeting starting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, for 26th Legislative District residents to participate.
The senator will host the hour-long community conversation, much like an interactive radio program, during which participants may ask questions or just listen to the conversation about issues that affect their district and state.
“I’m looking forward to connecting with constituents and addressing the issues they are most concerned about,” said Angel, R-Port Orchard. “A telephone town hall is a very effective way for me to communicate with hundreds of residents at the same time — and people can participate from the comfort of their own homes.”
Participants may receive an automated call inviting them to stay on the line to participate or they may call toll-free 1-877-229-8523 and when prompted, enter pin number 15472 to join the call.
“At that point in the legislative session, there still will be many different bills under discussion in the Senate and House of Representatives,” said Angel, who has already seen one of her pro-job bills win Senate approval. “The teleforum will give me a chance to update folks about the status of bills in the Senate and hear about the actions they want to see in the remaining weeks of the 2014 legislative session.”
