Olympic girls basketball

Head coach: Bryan Hanley

2016-2017 record: 19-7

Top returning players: Kiki Mitchell, guard, senior; Dejah Coleman, wing, senior; Lauren Peck, wing, senior; Emma Meadows, post, senior; Zoie Matheny, wing, junior; Brilee Triggs, guard, junior; Allanah Mitchell, guard, junior; Kaylani Riley, guard, sophomore.

Key newcomers: Jakyiiah Willis, guard, freshman; Morgan Kroesser, post, sophomore; Aahliyah Williams, post, sophomore.

Outlook: A veteran coach in Hanley (18 years at Crosspoint/Kings West, including ten as head coach) takes over for Laurie Shaw, who spent 22 years coaching at Olympic, including the last nine as the head coach. The Trojans lost Danielle Monzon and Katie Campana, the latter last year’s co-Olympic League MVP, to graduation, off last year’s state tournament team, but return plenty of experience and firepower. The team is quick, hard-working and talented, and has added some size in 6-foot-1 sophomore post player Williams and the 5-foot-11 sophomore Krosser. Once the team adjusts to the new styles and schemes, Hanley expects his team to make a deep run into the postsaeson.
