Silverdale Way Road Improvement Project update

SILVERDALE — Work continues through Jan. 17 on the joint utility trench at Lowell Street and Silverdale Way, as part of the Silverdale Way Road Improvement Project.

Other work includes the wall construction on the west side of Silverdale Way and the completion of the utility work north of Lowell Street (west side). Late next week, Jan 15-19, crews will begin grading and preparing the east side of Silverdale Way, from Anderson Hill Road to Byron Street, to install new curb and gutter.

All work schedules are subject to change because of inclement weather, Kitsap County Public Works reported.

There is no work scheduled for Jan. 13.

All businesses are open during construction. Keep traffic moving — plan ahead and scout an alternate route to your destination.

Expect alternating closures on Byron Street and Lowell Street for the completion of the water main installation and the joint utility trench construction. Message boards will post the day-to-day closures and detour routes will be signed accordingly,

Kitsap County Public Works reported. Both streets will reopen during the evening and non-work hours.

Alternating one-lane traffic will occur on Silverdale Way (south of Byron Street) to accommodate the joint utility trench construction.

The southbound shoulder on Silverdale Way (from Lowell Street to Byron Street) will close for the wall construction.

Outside northbound lane of Silverdale Way, from Byron to Anderson Hill Road, will close as crews prepare for curb and gutter installation. The inside northbound lane will remain open for traffic.
