PORT ORCHARD — The female driver of a white 1989 Chevrolet Blazer SUV was charged with vehicular assault and inattention Jan. 28 after her vehicle allegedly collided into the rear of a black Chrysler Sebring heading west on SR 160 at Geiger Road.

The driver, a 34-year-old female, is from Helena, Montana. She was not injured in the collision. Washington State Patrol troopers believe drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident.

The driver of the rear-ended Chrysler was injured in the accident and transported by South Kitsap Fire and Rescue to Harrison Hospital in Bremerton. The 38-year-old male from Port Orchard was wearing a seat restraint. Another passenger, a juvenile, wasn’t injured.

The passenger in the Blazer, a 50-year-old woman from Gig Harbor, also was not injured.

The westbound lane of SR 160 was closed for approximately two and one-half hours so that troopers could investigate the accident.
