POULSBO — Michael R. Lane, 31, of Silverdale, is charged in Kitsap County Superior Court with second-degree burglary.

The Island Lake Park pump house motion alarm went off just after midnight on March 22. Kitsap County Sheriff’s deputies responded and found a suspect, identified as Lane, inside. According to the report, the suspect admitted his name and was found holding a pair of vice grips and a needle-nose plier. Lane reportedly “admitted … that he had gone inside the pump house because he was going through tough times,” according to a Sheriff’s Department report. Lane also said “he had taken several tags off the valves.”

County employees said the burglary caused an estimated $750 in damages.

Lane was booked into Kitsap County Jail on $50,000 bail.
