SILVERDALE – The Kitsap Humane Society is seeking homes for 36 dogs taken in since Monday, including two large groups of dogs through Animal Control.
The Humane Society’s kennels are at full capacity with over 60 dogs having been taken in, KHS officials said May 4. They said the shelter is desperately looking for people to adopt some of these dogs.
New adoptions would free up some much-needed space at the shelter and reduce the immense load on the staff and volunteers. Dogs of all sizes, ages and personalities are in need of homes, officials said.
Beginning today, May 4, through Sunday, May 6, KHS is offering half-off the fees on all adult dog adoptions. The discount applies to all dogs over 6 months old. The standard adoption application, screening and counseling process still applies.
Adoption hours are:
Friday, May 4: noon-6:30 p.m.
— New applications must be submitted by 5:30 p.m.
Saturday, May 5: noon–5:30 p.m.
— New applications must be submitted by 4:30 p.m.
Sunday, May 6: noon–5:30 p.m.
— New applications must be submitted by 4:30 p.m.
