Gorst ramp closures tonight, tomorrow on SR 16

The ramp will reopen at 5 a.m. each morning.

PORT ORCHARD — It’s back to work for most folks after the Memorial Day weekend. And that’s also true for state Transportation Department crews who’ll begin paving State Route 16.

Beginning today and Wednesday, May 29-30, the westbound SR 16 exit to SR 3 will close each night at 9 p.m. so that crews can begin work on the paving project. The ramp will reopen at 5 a.m. each morning.

A signed detour will be provided, according to WSDOT. If rainy weather should ensue (it’s unlikely), the paving work could be rescheduled.

Drivers can expect single-lane and shoulder closures each weeknight. The closures begin at 8 p.m. and conclude at 5 a.m. each morning.
