PORT ORCHARD — Connor Morris and Ashley Sciocchetti were the overall male and female top finishers in the running of the 2018 Seagull Splat Division 5K race over the Memorial Day weekend in Port Orchard.
Morris took the top overall spot with a time of 17:39 in the race on Saturday, May 26. The competition took runners along Bay Street in Port Orchard toward a finish during the Fathoms O’ Fun summer festival event.
Sciocchetti crossed the line at 22:53 to finish first among female runners.
Nic Porter completed the 5K race closely behind Morris with a time of 17:45. He was the top placer in the male 19-29 category. Todd Petrovich, the top finisher in the male 40-49 category, registered a time of 18:03.
In the male 14 and under category, Butler Oakley completed the race at 20:28 to finish first in his grouping. Joseph Reardon ended his race in the male 30-39 category as the top finisher with a time of 19:54.
Shannon Neeley was a little less than one half-minute off the pace of Sciocchetti’s top time in the overall female category. Neeley completed her run in the 19-29 female category with a time of 23:25. Courtney Roberts took the 30-39 female category in a time of 26:07. And Paula McAvoy was the first finisher (28:22) among the 60-69 female group.
