KITSAP COUNTY — Six super softballers from Kitsap County were named to the All-State team by the Washington State Softball Coaches Association.
Olympic High School had a pair of 2A first-team players. Kaira Cabato checks in at third base on the all-state list. She hit .676 in her senior year with three home runs and 21 RBI. Sophomore Molly Gates hit .645 with six home runs, tying her for the team lead. Gates also hit 10 triples, seven doubles and drove in 38 runs.
Klahowya’s Amber Bumbalough made the class 1A second team with an area-best nine home runs. Overall, she batted .593 with 11 doubles and 33 runs scored. Bumbalough was also the Eagles ace once again, striking out 204 batters in 135 1/3 innings.
Also on the list is 4A first-team outfielder Statia Cermak, who led South Kitsap in virtually every offensive category. The UNLV-bound senior hit .574 with five home runs, 16 doubles and 25 RBI. Cermak also pitched 22 innings and had a 1.85 ERA.
North Kitsap freshman Brianna Hoffman made her debut on the all-state team after batting .385 with 18 RBI, primarily serving as an outfielder for the Vikings.
Bainbridge catcher Maddie Loverich batted .450 with six home runs, and 40 RBI and she finds herself on the 3A second team.
