PORT TOWNSEND — The Buccaneers brought an end to their 16-game losing streak with a 30-25 victory over Port Townsend on Sept. 6.

Junior fullback Garrett Sitting-Dog rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries and also successfully converted two extra points in the win. Sitting-Dog now has over 350 yards in two games this season. The Bucs rushed for 275 yards as a team.

Max Moran led the defense with 14 tackles (12 solo, two assists), a sack and a forced fumble. The defense had to stand tall in the dying moments of the game, forcing a Redhawks turnover with less than a minute left to hold on to the victory.

Kingston’s last gridiron win came Sept. 30, 2016, a 15-12 triumph over Port Angeles. Those two teams will meet at 7 p.m. on Friday night at Kingston High School.
