Parts of Hansville and Poulsbo experienced a loss of power on Sunday thanks to windy weather.
About 1,130 Puget Sound Energy customers lost power in Hansville after a tree fell on a line in the 35,000 block of Little Boston Road NE at around 2:30 p.m. said PSE’s Andrew Padula.
“When the tree came down, they obviously had to get crews out there to remove it, and then most of the customers were back up, restored around 3:20 p.m.” Padula said. The remaining customers without power, had power restored around 7:30 p.m.
At around 2:40 p.m. some 2,100 PSE customers lost power when a tree fell onto power lines at 2220 NE Lincoln Road in Poulsbo, resulting in downed wires. Power was partially restored by about 5 p.m. and fully restored by about 7:30 p.m.
“It took them a little longer to get those wires back up and running again,” Padula said.
Padula said crews were ready to respond to weather-related outages this fall.
“When you start to get the rain and some of the wind, it just kind of makes the limbs heavier and trees heavier, so they fall down,” he said. “We’re prepared for that kind of stuff and dealing with it as soon as we can.”
