PORT ORCHARD — Members of Soroptimist International of Port Orchard are seeking applicants for the organization’s annual Live Your Dream Award.

“Live Your Dream” is the signature educational program of Soroptimist International of the Americas, which was established to assist women who are the primary source of financial support for their families and who wish to improve their education, skills and employment prospects.

The cash award can be used to purchase books, pay for child care or transportation, for tuition or whatever is needed to help support the award winner in her pursuit of advanced education, said Bobbie Weatherill, spokeswoman for the Port Orchard chapter.

Eligible applicants must be enrolled in, or have been accepted to, a vocational/technical skills training program or an undergraduate degree program, and must demonstrate a financial need.

Applications must be received by the Nov. 15 deadline, Weatherill said.

Soroptimist is an international business and professional women’s volunteer service organization dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls in their communities and around the world.
