The Monday, May 2 vote count update from Kitsap County’s Election Division showed little movement toward passage of the South Kitsap School District bond measure.
The latest tally is:
South Kitsap School District No. 402 Bond |
Completed Precincts: 61 of 61 |
Vote Count | Percentage | |
Approved | 12,884 | 59.36% |
Rejected | 8,821 | 40.64%
|
The prior update from April 28 showed the approval vote margin at 59.31 percent, or 12,835 votes.
Votes to reject the measure registered at 40.69 percent, with 8,807 votes.
With the votes left to be recorded dwindling — and the approval margin only moving upward marginally — it’s uncertain if final results will place it over the super majority 60 percent plus one mark.
The previous update on April 27 showed 59.22 percent for approval and 40.78 percent rejecting the bond measure. The bond needs a 60-percent supermajority for a pass.
Kitsap County will announce the next vote update at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 5.
