Ava McCabe has finished her career as easily the most decorated volleyball player in school history, and she received one more honor this week — a place on the all-state volleyball team.

The Olympic League’s most valuable player was a 2A second-team all-state choice by the Washington State Volleyball Coaches Association.

McCabe did it all for the Buccaneers this year as she helped lead the team to a fourth-consecutive postseason appearance, including a second-straight trip to the state tournament. She finished 2018 with 344 kills, 53 aces and 266 digs.

North Kitsap had a trio of players named as honorable mentions in 2A — sophomore Riley Rabedeaux, junior Noey Barreith and senior Maddie Pruden, all of whom were integral to North Kitsap’s winning the league championship for the sixth year in a row and making a sixth-consecutive state tournament berth.

A pair of Klahowya Eagles also received statewide recognition. Junior setter Rachel Bailey and junior libero Maile Lueck were named 1A honorable mentions as well. Klahowya went 12-5 and ended its season in the District 3 1A volleyball tournament.
