Sports briefs: Bagley-Hall paces South Kitsap swimmers

South Kitsap senior Kelsey Bagley-Hall won two individual events to help the Wolves to a 101-85 Narrows League win Tuesday at Stadium. Bagley-Hall won both the 50- and 100-yard freestyle events.

South closed out the regular season Thursday against Central Kitsap. The Narrows League Championships begin next Friday at Foss.

DiG PiNK match on tap for Tuesday

South Kitsap hosts its second DiG PiNK volleyball match at 7 p.m. Tuesday against North Kitsap.

The cost is $5, which includes a pink T-shirt, with proceeds going to breast-cancer research, education and awareness. There also will be silent and live auctions at the event.

Wolves sweep dual cross-country meet

South Kitsap’s girls cross-country team had its top four runners place, and both of its programs swept Bellarmine Prep and Mount Tahoma in a dual meet Narrows League meet Oct. 6.

Jessica Peterson placed first for the Wolves, followed by Molly Wheeler, Keegan Tasker and Amanda Wilson. Clair Polley also placed 10th as South finished with 20 points.

The school’s boys team nearly was as dominant as it finished with 26 points. Nick Sleigh placed second for the Wolves, followed by teammates Dan Schulte and Kyle Norris. Austin Fritz (seventh), Zac Sleigh (ninth), Cody Pace (10th), Brady Tinker (11th) and Phillip Skala (14th) also placed for South.

The Narrows League Championships are at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lakewood’s Fort Steilacoom Park.
