North Kitsap Girls Tennis | Spring Sports Preview

North Kitsap Girls Tennis

Head coach: Jordan Prince

2018 record: 15-0

Key players: Grace Hansen, jr.; Noelani Barreith, jr.; Geneva Newell, sr.; Riley Rabedeaux, so.; Jamison Jacobson, sr.; Karly Rojas, fr.; Jesssica Raper, sr.; Rachael Griffel, sr.

Outlook: The five-time defending league champions will look a little different this year without four-time state champion Danya Wallis as its No. 1 singles player. Prince said this is his first year in six years that North Kitsap might not be the team to beat, that honor going to Sequim, which is strong up and down the lineup. But North Kitsap has plenty of experienced doubles players in Barreith, Rabedeaux, Hansen, Jacobson, Raper and Griffel. The Vikings also have a talented freshman singles player in Rojas, who Prince said could contend for a league championship and do some real damage at state. A sixth-straight crown is a tough, but doable, goal in the significantly-improved Olympic League.
