Saturday, March 23rd marks the seventh annual West Sound STEM Showcase at Kitsap Mall in Silverdale.

Each year the showcase presents science, technology, engineering and math principles at a fun and interactive event. Last year’s showcase had over 2,500 people attend, including almost 60 booths from dozens of area organizations showcasing hands-on activities to engage youth of all ages. There is no cost to hold a booth and no cost for participants. The event is free and open to the public.

The goal of the showcase is to inspire students, parents, teachers and the general public with STEM activities and show how they are applicable to future careers and in everyday life. Popular showcases from past years include a catapult challenge, underwater vehicle exploration, robotics, rocket launches, bridge building, field medicine, egg drops, animals, circuitry, X-ray technology and much more.
