A light snow and rain mix began falling in areas of South Kitsap around noon Monday.

According to the local National Weather Service forecast, a “cool and unstable air mass” was expected to move into the area today, with drier air expected to filter in later today.

Another front is expected to arrive Tuesday evening, and more rain is likely Thursday and Friday.
