PORT ORCHARD — Mackenzie Wright of Port Orchard is the recipient of the 2019 South Kitsap Community Pride Scholarship.

Wright is a graduating senior at South Kitsap High School. She used the theme of the impact of parental involvement on student success in and out of the classroom in her application and video submission.

The South Kitsap Community Pride Scholarship was established by Doug Miller and South Kitsap Properties in 2018. It is an annual scholarship program that focuses on student plans to improve the South Kitsap community. Miller said the application has a series of questions for the applicant to answer — one of which must be completed as a short video submission.
