KINGSTON — The LPGA Legends Tour is returning to White Horse Golf Club in Kingston for the second year in a row.
The Suquamish Clearwater Legends Cup will feature some of the most famous names in women’s golf. The Legends Tour is the official senior tour of the LPGA.
Included in the field is defending champion Trish Johnson of England, who recently finished second at the U.S. Senior Women’s Open, along with Kirkland native JoAnne Carner, a member of both the LPGA and World Gold Hall of Fame, and Spokane-area resident Wendy Ward.
Also returning are LPGA and World Golf Hall-of-Famers Nancy Scranton, Jan Stephenson and Hollis Stacy.
Several amateurs from the Pacific Northwest will also compete alongside the legends, including Leslie Folsom of Tukwila, Wash., Lara Tennant of Portland, Ore., and Anita Wicks of Roseburg, Ore.
New to the Legends Cup field this year are Juli Inkster, who won 31 tournaments and seven majors in her career on the LPGA tour, Jane Geddes, Tammie Green, Maria (Hjorth) McBride, Christa Johnson, Janet Anderson and Suzy Whaley.
Two more spots are available for the Legends Cup, and those will be filled via a local qualifying tournament to be held at 2 p.m. on June 5 at White Horse.
Gates open at 10 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Tee times begin at 11 a.m. Tickets are $20 per day or $30 for two days. Kids 12 and under get in free.
Attendees can park for free at Clearwater Casino or Bayside Community Church and there is a complimentary shuttle to White Horse from those locations.
