PORT ORCHARD — South Kitsap High School students excelling in Career & Technical Education classes were named CTE students of the year at a recognition ceremony late last month at the school.
Staff from each CTE program nominated and selected students to receive the awards. The students and their families were given a catered dinner by the school’s Advanced Culinary Program, according to a news release from South Kitsap School District.
The CTE program “offers a unique opportunity to engage students in an enormous variety of subjects, incorporating academic, creative and technical skills, with the specific goal, nowhere else represented in education, of preparing students for all of life that comes after high school,” according to the release.
