PORT ORCHARD — The Fathoms O’ Fun Grand Parade spilled onto Bay Street Saturday evening under weather conditions second to none: temps in the low 70s, a few scattered clouds, the bluest of skies — and kids, floats and marching teams galore.
As always, the little ones attending the parade with mom and dad not only got a visual treat as the marchers passed by on Bay Street, they were usually lucky enough to grab a handful of candy given out by parade participants.
Later in the evening, many of those attending the Grand Parade planned to stick around at 10:15 p.m. to watch the Bremerton Bridge Blast fireworks show off the Manette Bridge, visible from the Port Orchard waterfront.
Port Orchard will have its own fireworks show on Sinclair Inlet the night of July 4th.
