PORT ORCHARD — The City of Port Orchard is hosting a celebration commemorating the finish of the Tremont Street widening project at 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 2, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 151 Tremont St.
Hot dogs, cake, chips and water will be available, courtesy of Farmers Insurance, at 12:30 p.m.
State Sen. Emily Randall and state Reps. Michelle Caldier and Jesse Young, as well as retired state Sen. Jan Angel, will be in attendance.
The celebration comes almost 25 months after a groundbreaking ceremony was held near the Tremont-Pottery Avenue intersection on July 7, 2017.
The completion ceremony coincides with the opening July 29 of the rebuilt four-lane arterial to motorists.
