PORT ORCHARD — People are urged to register today for a free medical and dental clinic that will take place on Friday, Aug. 9 and Sunday, Aug. 11 at South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard.

The Amen Free Clinic, sponsored by the Port Orchard Seventh-day Adventist Church and AMEN, a nonprofit network of physicians and dentists, will visit the school both days from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Free services include private medical consultations with physicians. Those students wanting sports physicals need to bring their own forms. Physical therapy, adjustments, massage and other bodywork will be available. Basic dental work such as cleanings, fillings and extractions will be performed.

Vision exams and free prescription eyewear will be available. Individualized lifestyle counseling on nutrition, exercise and healthy living will be given, as well.

Proof of insurance, identification, income proof or immigration status will not be required, sponsors said. Care will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis by the care needed. Availability is limited.

Childcare and medical translation will be provided.
