The Washington State Transportation Commission recently adopted increases to fares on Washington State Ferries routes.

Fares will go up 2.5 percent for vehicles and 2 percent for passengers on Oct. 1. All fares will go up 25 cents on May 1, 2020, with the capital surcharge dedicated to the construction of new vessels.

WSTC also authorized the state ferry system to increase the reservation no-show fee up to 100 percent of the one-way fare paid, based on a standard-sized vehicle. But WSF hasn’t yet acted upon the authorization.

“No decisions have been made yet about this increase, and any decisions will be dependent on further community feedback,” according to the WSF’s weekly update.
