Kitsap Credit Union recently donated $500,000 for 1,400 bleachers for the new Central Kitsap High School football stadium.
The newly opened Kitsap Credit Union Cougar Field Athletic Sports Complex kicked off its first football game Sept. 6, when the Cougars beat the Olympic Trojans 41-17.
“It was an absolutely beautiful night,” KCU’s Chief Marketing Officer Wade Pyron said. “It represented the culmination of a lot of hard work in the community and Kitsap Credit Union could not be prouder to have been involved.”
“At the Credit Union, we talk about powering life’s opportunities,” Pyron went on. “This event really brought that home. We hope Kitsap Credit Union’s investment in the CKSD provides value to the community for many years to come.”
The new sports complex features a new football field, track, baseball and softball fields, and new tennis courts.
“The investment is rooted much deeper than just a corporate sponsorship,” KCU President and CEO Shawn Gilfedder said. “It represents over 80 years of investing in our local students, their families, and organizations like the Central Kitsap School District that are the heart of our community.”
