PORT ORCHARD — New South Kitsap School District Superintendent Tim Winter has an overriding question for parents, students, staff and the South Kitsap community:
“What are some important things South Kitsap School District is doing well and what can we focus on in order to improve?”
To gather input, the new superintendent plans to implement the nontraditional survey tool called Thoughtexchange. With this tool, users are able to share their ideas with others, then read and prioritize what others say, district spokeswoman Amy Miller said.
According to Miller, users can choose between English and Spanish versions.
“Thoughtexchange is a great tool for people to use when they have time,” Winter said. “Face to face meetings are not realistic for everyone and we want to hear as many voices as possible. We don’t want to miss out on what our community has to say just because people aren’t able to attend a meeting.”
Miller said the school district has used Thoughtexchange in the past to gather feedback on school safety, boundary revisions and overall district satisfaction. A link to the survey will be emailed to all staff and families and posted on the district’s website at www.skschools.org and social media for the community.
