A Silverdale man was arrested Sept. 20 for third-degree rape of a child and two additional counts of third-degree child molestation, after allegedly engaging in numerous sexual encounters with a 14-year-old girl.
According to a statement of probable cause filed in Kitsap County Superior Court on Sept. 23, Derin J. White, 33, admitted to authorities that he had performed various sexual acts with a teenage girl, with whom he was acquainted.
The victim’s father told a deputy that he confronted White the night before about his relationship with his daughter, to which he admitted, according to the incident report.
White had allegedly told the victim several times that as soon as she graduated high school, the two of them were going to move away and be together, documents read.
According to court documents, the victim’s family has expressed their concern for their safety due to the fact that White lives in close proximity to their home. A no-contact order was issued by the court as well as an order to surrender weapons.
White entered a plea of “not guilty” on Monday and is expected to appear in court again on Oct. 16 at 9 a.m.
