Parents of students reported seeing a naked man Wednesday morning in the vicinity of Silverdale Elementary School, according to Deputy Scott Wilson, public information officer for the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office.
The 38-year-old male was seen holding a hammer and a pillow on Dickey Road near the school and was reportedly sweating profusely in 45-degree weather, Wilson said. No children were reportedly exposed to the man.
“It was apparent from our observation of his mannerisms that he was under the influence of something,” Wilson said. “He didn’t really have anything to say.”
The man was contacted by deputies in a car driven by his wife, according to Wilson. She told deputies she woke up this morning and found that he had left the house without any clothes on so she went to find him.
Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue took custody of the man and transported him to Harrison Medical Center for an evaluation, Wilson said. Criminal charges are pending.
