Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue was recently recognized by the Washington Fire Commissioners Association at their annual conference, receiving the 2019 WFCA Management Excellence Award in the large fire department category A.

The submission for the award cited CKF&R’s weekly newsletter as one of the many things that makes it an innovative and progressive organization, according to a press release.

“The newsletter was developed to help CKF&R meet a long term goal of improving internal communication, but in its development and distribution, it has proven to also be a top way to provide positive and transparent communication to the community served,” the release states.

The awards for Management Excellence were presented to several fire districts recognizing their accomplishments, programs, and activities. Category A denotes departments with a budget over $4 million.
