Police say a man who is wanted on suspicion of burglary at Boerner Firearms in Gorst on April 9 is on the run from sheriff’s deputies and detectives.

A nationwide warrant of arrest for burglary in the second degree for Patrick Weldon Nelson Jr., 40, with a listed residential address in Seattle, was issued April 15.

Nelson is known to frequent Clallam and Jefferson Counties and has family in the area of Forks. He is 5’9″, weighs about 210 pounds and has blue eyes and brown hair.

Nelson Jr. is a primary suspect in a burglary that occurred to Boerner Firearms during the early morning hours of Wednesday, April 9, where 14 handguns were stolen. None of the stolen guns have been recovered.

Nelson is a convicted felon and is currently under supervision by the Washington State Department of Corrections. He was last released from incarceration on Feb. 28, 2014 for violating terms of his release from prison. A criminal history regarding this suspect shows eight felonies, to include multiple narcotics charges, eluding a pursuing police vehicle, assault, 3rd degree, and theft: taking motor vehicle without owner’s permission.

Nelson has numerous driving convictions, additional drug charges, and obstructing law enforcement, resisting arrest, escape and two firearms/dangerous weapons violations.
