The Kitsap County Courthouse was evacuated Friday morning as the Port Orchard Police Department investigated a potential threat to the building, after a suspicious package was discovered.

Port Orchard Police, Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office, and personnel from the Washington State Patrol Inter-agency Bomb Squad responded to assist with the situation.

The Kitsap County Courthouse campus has since been reopened and is back to normal operation after the evacuation.
