Windy weather was responsible for multiple power outages, emergency service calls and downed trees throughout Kitsap County Friday. High winds also prompted WSDOT to close off the Hood Canal Bridge to traffic Friday afternoon.

In one instance North Kitsap Fire & Rescue crews were called to the scene of a tree that had fallen onto a vehicle near Kingston, along Gamble Bay Road.

According to NKF&R spokesperson, Michele Laboda, the driver and sole passenger of the vehicle were able to escape without any injuries, despite significant damage to the car.
