Joe Biden proved to be the leading Democratic candidate in Kitsap County as the first round of votes for the 2020 Presidential Primary were tallied up Tuesday night.

Biden garnered 31.29 percent of the tallied votes as of 8:02 p.m. with 12,529 Kitsap residents naming the former vice president as their choice for the democratic ticket in 2020. Bernie Sanders trailed Biden with 29.04 percent of the vote at 11,626.

As the sole republican on the ballot, Donald Trump gathered 100 percent of the vote with 22,271 locals voting in favor of the incumbent president.
