Kitsap Public Health District reported eight new positive tests for COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the overall case total to 119.

Over the past two weeks, which is typically the high end for the incubation period of the coronavirus, 88 new cases have been uncovered as testing has ramped up.

The number of new cases reported each day has stayed relatively steady, with a high of 10 on March 28 and a low of two on April 4; although it should be noted that delays at the state level can sometimes cause a lag in the reporting of new cases.

Through April 6, approximately 12 percent of the total tested residents have been hospitalized overnight; some of these hospitalizations may be due to a coronavirus-like illness or similar illness and may not be for a laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 case.

Of the 119 total cases reported in Kitsap, 32 have been reported in Bremerton, 30 in South Kitsap, 24 in North Kitsap, 22 in Central Kitsap and 11 on Bainbridge Island. One death has been reported.

Updated total and negative testing numbers were not yet available as of 2 p.m. Tuesday.

The age breakdown for confirmed infections is as follows:

0-19: 5 (4 percent)

20-29: 17 (14 percent)

30-39: 12 (10 percent)

40-49: 23 (19 percent)

50-59: 30 (25 percent)

60-69: 16 (13 percent)

70-79: 11 (9 percent)

80+: 5 (4 percent)
