Bremerton Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Michael Strube submitted his resignation last Friday. The resignation is effective September 5, 2014.

Strube, who has been with the Chamber since March 10, 2010, submitted his letter of resignation to the board of directors and has accepted a sales and marketing position with Dex Media in Silverdale.

Strube, 44, was originally hired by the chamber as the marketing director. He was promoted to executive director and took on the title of President/CEO when the Chamber restructured the organization. He has served on the advisory board of the Bremerton Salvation Army and also sits on the City of Bremerton Planning Commission.

“The Bremerton Chamber of Commerce is losing a great asset,” said Annetta Knight, incoming Board Chairperson. “Mike has been a fixture in the Bremerton landscape for many years, not only as the president and CEO of the chamber, but in his volunteer work and community service. We know that will continue. We wish him well in his new endeavor and look forward to seeing what new things he will bring to our community.”

In addition to running the daily affairs of the chamber, Strube was the face of the organization, attending many city council meetings and public events. Before joining the Chamber, Strube worked in sales and marketing for Costco Wholesale in Silverdale, from 1991 to 2010.

“Bremerton is an exciting and vibrant city,” Strube said. “I truly value and enjoyed my time with the chamber. I am very proud of the good work that has been accomplished in my time there and still plan on being a huge part of our community.”
