As summer arrives with the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic still looming large, Port Madison Enterprises recently announced that its Clearwater Casino Resort will be canceling the Performances at the Passage series and its F0urth of July celebration.

“As a Suquamish Tribal member and long time employee, I have seen how the Performances At the Passage concerts have brought families and our community together,” PME Chief Operating Officer Irene Carper said. “As the health and safety of our community is our top priority, canceling these concerts was the best decision for our people. As much as we love these concerts, we are looking forward to having this concert series back in 2021.”

“We’ve had the pleasure over the years to celebrate Independence Day with our local community,” PME Chief Executive Officer, Rion Ramirez said. “Bringing everyone together for a fun filled evening of celebration and excitement is what we at Clearwater Casino Resort strive to bring to Kitsap County. With recent circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, we spent a lot of time evaluating our summer entertainment. For the health and safety of our community, we have decided to cancel the Fourth of July celebration for 2020. We hope that circumstances will improve by 2021 so we may bring back this community loved event.”

In a bit of good news, PME also announced that they’ll be introducing the Exclusive Resort Summer Concert series for this year, running from July 16 to Aug. 20. According to a press release, the goal is to try various concert options on a smaller scale in order to meet COVID-19 health and safety precautions. The outdoor concert series will only be available to folks staying at the resort portion of the hotel and will not be open to the public or anyone staying in the casino hotel tower.

Additionally, those staying in the resort with a water view will be asked to enjoy the concert from their balcony and guests who don’t have a view of the concert from their room will be able to watch the concert from the lawn. 10-foot circles will be displayed on the grass where parties from the same hotel room will watch the concert. The resort lobby bar will be open, as well as a beer cart and hot dog cart on the lawn, according to PME.
